Lancaster Eagle-Gazette, Friday, May 3, OBITUARIES Mina Alspaugh Mina F. Alspaugh, 82, Stoutsville, died May 2, 2002, in Logan Elm Health Care. She was born July 22, 1919, the daughter of George and Minnie Griffey Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Alspaugh; daughters, Jo Ann Vincent and Ida Belle Alspaugh; four brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her sons, Paul (Penny) Alspaugh of West Virginia and William (Roxanne) Alspaugh of Lancaster; daughter, Marilyn (Terry) Bailey of Stoutsville; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and son Manford Vincent of Carroll.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be held at Harrison Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m.

Sunday at the funeral home. Mary Behrens Mary Elizabeth "Sis" Gaumer Behrens, 85, a lifetime resident of Marysville, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at The Gables at Green Pastures. She was born July 23, 1916, in Marysville to the late 1 Bruce B. and Mary Dennis Kirby Gaumer. She was editor emeritus of the Marysville Journal-Tribune and Richwood Gazette, having previously served as publisher and editor, and was the third generation of her family to be involved in the newspaper business.

She was a 1934 graduate of Marysville High School, attended Denison University, and in 1938, graduated from Ohio State University in art education. She taught art in the Marysville and Union County schools from 1938 to the 1950s. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and a lifetime member of the Ohio State University Alumni Association, Hannah Emerson Dustin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, King's Daughters, Twig 6 of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Marysville Art League. She was a founding member of the Aletheia Society and the Bridgette Club. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the senior choir and taught Sunday School.

She is survived by a son, Daniel E. (Melanie) Behrens of Marysville; daughters, Julianne (David) LeRoy of San Diego, and Mary (Tim) Miller of Marysville; seven grandchildren, Wendy Miller, Brian Gray, Heather (Scott) Reed, Kelly (Mark) Morgenstein, Katie Sekardi, Mike (Jennifer) Behrens and Kevin Behrens; two stepgrandchildren, David W. and Christina LeRoy; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Marguerite Mary Behrens; a sister-in-law, Betty H. Gaumer of Marysville; sister- and brother-in-law, and Walter Danison of New Carlisle; and several nieces and I nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Winfield F.

Behrens on Dec. 8, 1994; a son, David G. Behrens on Feb. 18, 1997; an infant brother, David Daniel Gaumer in 1919; and a brother, F.T. Gaumer in 1988.

A funeral will be held at noon Monday at the Underwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Renee Ahern officiating. Burial will at Oakdale Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Kevin and Mike Behrens, Brian Gray, Tim Miller, David W. LeRoy and Mark Morgenstein.

Honorary pall bearers will be Don Streng, Eugene Harbold, Worthy Bright and Ronnie Price. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marysville Art League, Trinity Lutheran Church or the Marysville High School Alumni Scholarship Fund. John Brehm John C. Brehm, 76, Bremen, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at his residence. John was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Perry County, the son of the late Floyd and Ruth Spitzer Brehm.

He was a member of Mt. Zion U.B. Church near Junction City, and Bremen American Legion Post 20. He was a World War II Army veteran. John was a retired truck driver for Rushcreek Clay with 27 years service.

He also was employed for 14 years for the Fairfield Union Schools as a custodian. He was a 1943 graduate of Rushville High School. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, whom he married June 1, 1947, Phyllis N. Eyman Brehm of the home; two sons, David (Samm) Brehm of New Lexington, and John R. Donna Carter Donna B. Carter, 67, Lancaster, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Lanfair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by four daughters and son-in-law, Valerie Carter, Vicky Carter, both of Lancaster, Judy Wildermuth of Washington Court House and Cindy and Jim Anderson of Lancaster; son, Greg Carter of Lancaster; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Clark of Lancaster, Sharon Geirhart of Kentucky, Charlene and Jim Friesner, Jannelle Lanning, Janice Lanning, all of Lancaster, and Mary Jo and Ray Bailey of Athens; many nieces and nephews; the staff of Lanfair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice. Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Fairfield County, 1111 E. Main Lancaster 43130. Richard Clinger Richard D. Clinger, 78, Buckeye Lake, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born Nov.

1, 1923, in Columbus to the late William and Lucy. Clinger. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and worked as a draftsman at North American Rockwell, retiring in 1987 after more than 30 years service. He was a member of the Buckeye Lake VFW 1388 and Buckeye Lake Eagles 2801.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Diana Sue) Neighbarger of Buckeye Lake and Ms. Delores M. Gregg of Thornville; sons, Richard D. Clinger Jr.

of Buckeye Lake and Steven T. (Shirley) Clinger of Garner, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, JoAnn Keene Clinger, who passed away in 1991.
