Myron Beers Sr. Myron E. "Pappy" Beers 91, Lancaster, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Sunrise Nursing Home in New Lexington. He was a truck driver for Cardinal Homes and a World War II U.S.

Army veteran. He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 955. Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-law, George and Suzanne Beers of Lancaster, Myron and Maria Beers Jr. of Heath, Paul Beers of Kingston, Richard Beers and Everett L. and Judy Beers, all of Lancaster; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and David Syfert of Junction City; 15 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; and son-in-law, Ray (Karen) Graham of Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Marcella Beers and Margie V. Beers, and parents, Walter and Nellie Beers. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Forest Rose Cemetery with Pastor Tony Salvatori officiating. Friends may visit from 1 p.m.

until time of service Friday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Ruth Burgess Ruth E. Burgess, 64, Corning, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

Born June 27, 1934 in New Straitsville the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel "Emerick" Burgess, she was a graduate of Ohio State University. She taught for 42 years: the first at Union Furnace and the last 41 years in the Southern Local School District. She was the Miller High School junior class adviser. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Future Business Leaders of America and The Ohio Business Teachers Association. She is survived by aunt, Melda Leaver of Columbus; uncle, Frank Emerick of Columbus; stepmother, Edna Burgess of New Lexington; sister-in-law, Judy Burgess of New Straitsville; nephews, Dave (Tammy) Burgess of Lancaster, Rodney Burgess of New Straitsville; great-nephew; Kyle Burgess of Lancaster; and cousins, Bob, Mary Ann, Chris and Ben McQuiniff of Grove City, Frank, Laura and Kenny Bullock of Lancaster, and Donna Leaver of Delaware.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Burgess; stepmother, Flossie Spencer Burgess; and best friend, Pearl Josephson. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Miller High School with the Rev. Ernest Eing and Richard Fitch officiating. Interment will follow at New Straitsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ruth E. Burgess memorial fund, in care of the North Valley Bank, Corning 43730. Roger Conrad Sr. Grove, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Mt.

Carmel Medical Center East, Columbus. He was retired owner of Exer'cise Leisure Co. of Louisville, and a member of First English Lutheran Church, Lancaster. He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret Conrad; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger L. and Stephanie Conrad Jr.

of Sugar Grove; one grandson, Christian Roger Conrad; four sisters, Virginia (Harold) Shue, Rosalie (John) Dambaugh, Norma Woltz, all of Lancaster, and Betty Jane Featheroff of Delaware; one brother, Howard "Sonny" (Helen Conrad of Lancaster; sisters-in-law, Pam (Jeff) and Christina Watts, Judy Evans and Barb Mahoney; brother-in-law, Greg (Lisa) Thrush; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Rene Conrad; one son, John Patrick Conrad; his parents, Carl R. and Irene M. Kilyan Conrad; one sister, Theresa Shue; and one brother, Robert "Buss" Conrad. Services will be held at 11 a.m.

Friday at the Sheridan Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence H. Myers officiating. Burial will be at Stukey Cemetery, Sugar Grove. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

He was retired from the furnace room at Glass and also worked for Pickerington Security. He was a member of Calvary Orthodox Lutheran Church, a member of the Shumaker National Rifle Association, a lifemember of American Flint Glass Workers, past chairman of Local 506, international executive board member of AFGWU, charter member of the Second Amendment Foundation and charter member of the Citizens Community of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Henrietta Shumaker; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gail Hollingshead of Lancaster and Betti and Chris Tolliver of Logan; son, William McCarty Shumaker of Sugar Grove; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Shumaker of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Sue Welker; parents, Henry and Mary E. Shumaker; and great-grandson, Jacob Hoalcraft.
