Botanists at tiie Nikitsky Garden provided specie ol plants introduced to Yalta from China. A visit to tlie Altai Fruit and Ornamental Station in Barnaoul. Siberia, yielded several species and varieties of plant.

This adaptability is based on severe climatic conditums liere the plants originated. The plant were collected during a i o-month trip to the Soviet Union by Dr. John R.
