Tom Stenger, 542 East Fifth avenue, entertained with a small party Saturday night at the Country Club, for the pleasure of Miss Cynthia Fulton, Los Angeles. California, visiting in Lancaster. Garden flowers in bright colors were used in decorations for the dinner, for which guests were invited at seven o'clock. Seated around the gaily appointed table were Miss Fulton, Miss Virginia Pickering, Miss Marianne Vorys, Miss Nancy Dunn, Columbus, Mr. John Kerr, Mr.

Don Gilluley, Mr. William Dunn and Mr. Danny Galbreath, Columbus, Miss Stenger and Mr. Stenger. Later in the evening the young people motored to Buckeye Lake for boating.

Miss Fulton accompanied her Marry At Church Ceremony, Reception At Nearby Inn Tall, slender, and dark haired Miss Dori.s Marie Van Horn was radiantly lovely, as to the strains of Lohengrin Wedding March, she took her place at the altar on the arm of her father. Mid-summer afternoon sunlight slanting through the windows of First Presbyterian Church lighted the pathway for the bride and her attendants, and fell across Miss Van Horn and Mr. Kenneth Kaye Hannan as they repeated their wedding vows. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Robert C.

Bowman at three-thirty o'clock in the afternoon of Sun r'Y -V Mir- and Mrs. V. R. Brown of Port I Clinton, Ohio, was attended by Mr. Fred Lewis who served him as best man, and Mr.

Carl James, Mr. Paul Oberdorfer, Mr. Robert Reef, and Lieut. Judd Hauenstei. acting as ushers.

0 Mrs. Donald Leon Dowell Salyers Photo A bride early in the summer, Mrs. Donald Leon Dowell, the former Miss Anita Marvey Chapman, and Mr. Dowell, were married in the Parish House of St. Mary's Catholic Church on June twenty-seventh.

The young couple has established residence at 632 Forest Rose avenue, Lancaster. day, July seventh. Slender white candles, seven branched candelabra, and beauty vases of white gladioli and gyp- sophiha, decorated the altar A program of melodies includ ing "Oh Promise Me," "Always," and "I Love Thee," was presented preceding the ceremony by Mrs. Donald Friend, accompanied by Miss Lenora Taylor at the organ, who also played "Melody in "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life" and "Intermezzo." Miss Van Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Harvey Van Horn of 1614 East King-st, wore a gown of traditional white It was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline edged in white, antique ivory lace, identical to that which accented the hip line of the full circular skirt, falling from a fitted bodice and ending in a cathedral train. Her long sleeves came to points over her hands and a veil of imported illusion was held in place by a tiara embroidered with sequins and pearls. She wore a pair of turquoise earrings which were the gift of her bridegroom, and carried a shower arrangement of white bride's roses and stephanotis. Wears Blue Satin Miss Betty Hannan, sister of the bridegroom, served as maid of honor, wearing a powder blue satin gown designed with a net yoke, and an off the shoulder ef- feet above a draped bodice, from which fell a full over skirt of net, wnicn swept mw a snon train. On her head was a halo of flowers holding a shoulder length veil of the color of her gown.

and Mrs. Frank Van Note. The former Miss Elsie Speakman, Mrs. VanNote is the daughter of Mrs. Katie Speakman and a sister of Mr.

LUCI EN far' niversary was postponed last year because of the four sons and son-in-law being in service, but was made more enjoyable this year, when the family circle was complete.

The spacious lawn at the Snyder home was the scene of the festivities, featured by a six o'clock chicken supper served at tables, centered with garden flowers. Covers were laid for the Rev. W. F. Doctor, the family pastor, and Mrs.

Doctor, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kull, Miss Pauline Zimmerman, and the Snyder family, including Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snyder, Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Timberlake, children Nancy and Charles F.d, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Smith, Mr. and Mrs.

Ed- ward (Buddy) Snyderi Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snyder, Mr. James Snyder and Mr. William Snyder.

The honored guests were married July 2, 1905 and have made their home in Lancaster since that time. They received a cash gift from their children and other re membrances from friends. Ladies' Aid Has July Meeting Members of the Ladies Aid Society of Ziegler's Lutheran Church met Wednesday, July third at Rising Park, with Mrs. Larry Pence as hostess. Mrs.

Homer Warner, president, was in charge of the meeting, opened by group singing and prayer. Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Leslie Hufford, after which a business session was held. Program for the afternoon in-eluded readings by Mrs. Jessie Lemmon and Mrs.

Paul Weimer and a spelling contest, in which Miss Clara Hoffman received the favor. Mrs. Harold Rowles was the winner in another contest. Lunch in keeping with the Fourth of July was served by the hostess, assisted by her mother, Mrs. Leslie Hufford of Columbus.

Huckleberry foliage wreathed the white tiered wedding cake which held a tiny bride and groom. Blue delphinium and baby's breath arranged upon a snowy wnite clotn decorated the bridal table, while bowls of garden flowers were placed on smaller tables throughout the room. Mrs. Van Horn chose for her daughter's wedding a lime green dress, with, which she combined white accessories.

A corsage of gardenias and pink rosebuds adorned the shoulder of the dress. Mrs. Brown, mother of the groom, wore a cool summer greefl dress with which she had a corsage of white French carna tions pinned to the shoulder 'Black accessories completed her outfit. Receiving with the bride's parents was Mrs. Kelly R.

Hannan, who wore a dress of melon colored crepe, with a narrow gold kid belt fastened at the waist. With this she corn- bined black accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. Upon return from the trip, they will establish their home at 614 East King-st.

The new Mrs. Hannan is a graduate of Lancaster High School, and has been associated with Wendel's jewelry store for the past three years. Mr. Hannan ter High School find has recently been discharged after having served three vears in the service of the U. S.

Miss Betty Denton of the East Main-st, Lancaster, is now affiliated with the hospital at the Boys' Industrial School, having accepted the position vacated by Miss Ruth Poling, who was married early this spring. Miss Denton served as Fairfield-co Health Nurse for a number of years.

Woodrow W. Ramsey, formerly of Cincinnati, have concluded a visit of two weeks with relatives in Lancaster and in Rushville. Mr. Ramsey served with the United States Army for two and one half years. He and Mrs.

Ramsey plan to establish residence at 1239 Curtis-st in Denver, Colorado, where Mr. Ramsey has accepted a position as consulting engineer with the Sterns, Roger Manufacturing Company. In Lancaster the visitors were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sieber, East Sixth-av, and of Mrs.

VACATIONED IN MICHIGAN Miss Betty Schaffner of the County Treasurer's office is home from a vacation stay of a week, in Grandville, Michigan, whore she was the house guest of Miss Fern Keller. Miss Keller, a former resident here, arranged several informal social affairs for her guest, in addition to trips planned to points on Lake Michigan, Hardy Dam, Croton Dam and Wabasis Lake. Snoke Reunion At Rising Park More than sixty relatives and friends attended the annual Snoke reunion, held Sunday at the Lancaster Shelter House, Rising Park. A bounteous basket dinner was served at noon, after which a program of informal talks and a business session was held. Mr.

Alfred Snoke is president of the family group, with Mr. Perry Seifert, vice president and i Mrs. James Keister, secretary, Dispensed with last year, be-! cause of the war, the occasion was especially enjoyable this year, bringing together an interested group of relatives. Lancastrians On Vacation Mr. and Mrs.

Dana Stewart, son. Freddie, and daughter, Molly, i motored to Culver, Indiana, early last week, where their son, will spend the next eight weeks in a i summer camp conducted by the Culver Military Academy. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart and their daughter then went on to Mt.

Pleasant. Michigan, for a short! visit with Mr. Stewart's mother, Mrs. Edward Stewart. 1 Mr.

and Mrs. Virgil Totten of 431 Lake left Saturday on a buying trip for the Totten Furniture and Linoleum Co. on East Main st. They are in Chicago, Illinois, where they will visit the furniture display in the Merchandise Mart there. AT GRADUATION IN THE EAST Miss Marjorie Shaw, Mellman Inn, Columbus Road, is home from a visit of three weeks, spent with Miss Patti Wells, at her home in Leominster, Mass.

Wrhile there Miss Shaw attended the graduation of Miss Wells from the Leominster High School. VISITING AT BITLER HOME John Slantz Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Young, East Main-st is spending several days with his relatives.

S. Pond, former resident here, who now lives on North Market-st, Logan, has had word from her daughter. Miss Helen Pond, of her safe arrival in Puerto Rico. The trip was made on a freighter, sailing from Galveston, Texas. She took up her duties as dietitian in St.

Luke's Hospital at Ponce on July eighth. Miss Pond who was dietitian in St. Luke's Hospital in Tokyo, for many years, and who was evacuated to the Philippines when the foreign women and children were sent out of Japan, was interned for three years 'at Santa Tomas, after the fall of Manila. Lancastrians who were fortunate in hearing Miss Pond in informal talks, while visiting her mother here, recall her vividly told stories of their internment, bits of their day by day life, and of the never to be forgotten day when American airplanes flew over their camp. To Come From East Rv Plane Miss Rita Stetson, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. R. C. Stetson of 516 North High-st, will arrive by plane from New York, on Tuesday, July ninth to enjoy a three week's vacation from her studies and work in the Eastern city. Miss Stetson has been in New York for the past five summers and has made her home there the past year.

An outstanding dancer, she has been quite busy with water ballet work, and at the same time studying classical ballet dancing with the great master Vincengo Celli, taking one and sometimes two lessons every day. The young dancer also studies languages, under a private tutor, in preparation for going abroad to further her classical ballet work. This will be the first time the Stetson family will be home together in five years, as the brothers Bob and Bill Stetson are recently out of service with the Armed Forces. They are manager and assistant manager of the Miller Park Swimming Pool. LEAVES ON TRIP IN THE EAST Miss Alice Thimmes is off on a two weeks vacation trio, with planes to visit with her brother-in law and sister, Mr.

and Mrs. Don Lehew and family in Salem, New Jersey, after which she will make other stops in the East.
