The candelabra were entwined with ivy and pews were mark-ed with white bows. The Rev, Jackie D. Leigh officiated at the double ring ceremony at half after two o'clock with Royal McCune serving as organist and Mrs. Sandy Hampson, as vocalist.

Her songs were "0 Perfect Love." "Wedding Prayer" and "Wherever Thou Goest." "The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Holliday, Pleasantville. and Mr.

and Mrs. Raymond B. Turner, also of Pleasantville are parents of Mr. Turner. Bridal Gowa For her wedding, the bride selected a silk organza gown, featuring Venise lace embroidery that trimmed the empire bo-ice and long slim sleeves.

A lace Jnffle encircled the high neckline and cuffed the sleeves. The A line skirt had narrow Venise lace accenting the hemline and full attached train with vertical rows of the trim adding a back detail. A profile headpiece of lace daisies with twists of pearls held her tiered silk illusion veil, jjhe carried yellow Sweetheart stephanotis and baby breath, tied with white knotted streamers. -Attendants As maid of honor for her sister. Miss Denise Holliday wore a sleeveless floor length dress, fashioned of sheer flocked yellow nylon with embroidered tiny white daisies.

The neckline was accented by ruffles and the bias cut skirt was gracefully flared. A white picture hat with matching yellow ribbon completed her outfit. Her colonial bouquet included multicolored daisies, baby mums and baby breath, tied with white streamers. Bridesmaids, Mrs. Sally Mc-Candlish and Miss Becky Baker wearing gowns of green and pink, respectively, were attired identically like the honor attendant.

Each had a tiny locket, a gift from the bride. Each of the bouquets accented the color of the dress the attendant wore. Michelle and Brenda Watson, cousins of the bride, stood on either side of the double front entrance doors of the church, each hold ing a fireside basket filled with rice packets, tied with yellow and pink ribbons. Banquet was held at Kahiki in Columbus with Dick Byrd and Mr. and Mrs.

John Baughman as guests for the occasion. Mr. Byrd is from Tiki Lanes and Mrs. Baughman is Medill principal. Mrs.

Sharon Norris. president, conducted a short meeting and introduced her banquet committee, including Mrs. Mar-cella Anderson, Mrs. Carolyn Kemp, Mrs. Pat Cox, Mrs.

Edna Clelland and Mrs. Sue Moody. Dick Byrd presented first place team, "The U.F. a trophy. Team members are Mrs.

Sue Moody. Mrs. Norma Hutsler, Mrs. Karen Tulli-us and Mrs. Trudy Kemmeling.

Mrs. Sue Clark received a trophy for being the most improved bowler of the year. Mrs. Norris gave gifts to Mrs. Sandie Porterfield for having high game with a 236 and to Mrs.

Sue Stalder for high series with 557. As presiding officer, Mrs. Norris presented -a check for $810 to Mr. Baughman for use of the children at Tallmadge and needs of the school. Election of officers was held with Mrs.

Sharon Norris being named president; Mrs. Bonnie Clark, vice president; Mrs. Sue Stalder, secretary; Mrs. Sue Moody, treasurer and Mrs. Marge Smith, sergeant-at-arms.

House, Garden Pilgrimage At Hudson, Ohio The 26th annual House and Garden Pilgrimage will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 13,. 14 and 15 at Hudson, Ohio. Five houses and several gardens are included in the "festival week" activities. Three of the historic homes are restored in their original character as nearly as possible and two houses are less than 10 years old, but interesting in their use of tradition with antiques and some contemporary pieces in a combination. The gardens are of great interest with their various type of trees, flowers and plantings.

The Garden Club's basket shop will be restocked, there will be fresh herbs and herb products at the herb shop, a plant sale and the Christian Church bazaar. An outdoor art show, a potter's demonstration and exhibit, antiques show, an old fashioned ice cream social and special exhibits of early Hudson artifacts, photos and furnishings will be added attractions. "The school is for children to learn to live together. Funny in this world people have to leam that." Entertainer Josephine Baker, speaking about an island that had been given to her by the Yugoslav government to use as a school for children from all over the world. Mrs.

and Mrs. Floyd Mitchell and family and Mr. and Mrs. Art Cogswell, Huntsville, Ala. Pre-bridal showers were given for the former Miss Holliday by Mrs.

The young musicians of the Lancaster Junior Music Club with their startling freshness, enthusiasm and zest, will present the program at the final meeting of the club year for the senior Lancaster Music Club. Guest artists, Fred Kalister, classical guitarist and Miss Jeannine Fisher, vocalist, will add charm and artistry to the evening's program, one suited to the listening ear of every individual in attendance.

The Juniors are eager to display the progress made by them this past year. Those, who received superior ratings at the State Federation of Music Clubs Spring Festival for Junior organizations, held in Columbus in March, will participate in the program. Smith, Rt. 2 Baltimore are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Lu Ann. to William Kelly Lott, son of Mrs. Patricia Lott, 129 W. Walnut Lancaster.

Miss Smith is a 1971 graduate of Liberty Union High School and attended Hocking Technical College. She is presently employed at Diamond Power Specialty Lancaster. Mr. Lott served three years in the United States Army and is employed with Anchor Hocking Corp. The young couple are planning a September wedding.

District Chairmen were given and awards presented. Fairfield Unit received citation for exceeding goal in membership; for answering membership roll call and a Department citation for meritorious service; first place in Community Service and an award for Americanism, Mrs. Herbert Belhorn chairman. There was a gift for Mrs. Belhorn.

Mrs. Robert Riley, Mt. Sterling, Department Second Vice President, was speaker of the day. She read an outstanding speech on Americanism, written by a 77 year old girl. A memorial service was conducted with Fairfield Unit paying tribute to four departed members.

Mrs. Robert Waddell. Lithopolis, was elected an alternate to the National Convention. Eighty six women attended the meeting and a buffet luncheon, Fairfield Unit will have installation of officers June 26 with Mrs; Charles Kessinger to be installing officer. Gate posts of western wood should be set at least four feet deep, in gravel or concrete.

Ralph S. Krile, 212 Oakwood announce the engagement of their daughter, Sue, to Pete Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred F. Wright, 811 Forest Rose Ave.

Miss Krile is a 1969 graduate of Berne Union High School, and is presently employed in the offices of Anchor Hocking Corporation. Mr. Wright, a 1966 graduate of Lancaster High School, is employed at the Lancaster Post Office. Prior to this, he served four years with the U.S. Army.

Bowling League Banquet Marked By Many Awards The General Sherman Bowling League held the Spring banquet at the Moose Home on Main Hill. Dick Byrd presented first place trophies to Marge Dum-ire, Dorothy Leach, Joyce Duncan and second place trophies to Shirley Valentine, Carole Valentine and Dixie Lott. WI-BC awards were given to Char-lene Swisher for having a triplicate score of 123, Doris Martin, all spare game of 182 and Ann Robinson, most improved bowler 13 pins. High team game 542 and high team series, 1465 to Lucky Three; high individual game of 222 to Marilyn Moore; individual series, 545, to Diana Eads; 200 and 500 awards were given UUlo Prizes NO PURCHASE NECESSARY Fairfield Unit 11 American Legion Auxiliary was well represented at the summer conference of Eighth District held Thursday at Middleport. At this time, Mrs.

Devon Tipple was elected president of the District, following her nomination by Mrs. Sam Snyder. Others attending in addition to Mrs. Tipple and Mrs. Snyder were Mrs.

Chester McClelland, Mrs. Ray Phillips, Mrs. Wilson Vasbinder, Mrs. Richard Barnes, Mrs. Nelson Mowe-ry and Mrs.

Robert McCann. Mrs. Snyder was chosen to attend the Pre-Conference Meeting at Toledo July 20-22. She will be one of the representatives from the Eighth District. Unit 128 was hostess for the Conference, with Mrs.

Harold Will as president and Mrs. Henry Rietmire as chaplain. The Welcome address was given by Mrs. Roy Hendrix and Miss Becky Roush, a junior member. Eighth District President Mrs.

Charles J. Kessinger presided. Greetings were brought to the conference by Post 128 Walter Bunce; Mayor John Zerkle, and District Commander, Robert Waddell, Lithopolis. reports of Miss Christine M. Helser Graduate Nurse Miss Christine Marie Helser, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. C. G. Helser, Rushville, will graduate June 22 from Grant Hospital School of Nursing, Columbus. Commencement exercises will be held in First Congregational Church in that city.

Miss Helser plans to continue employment at Grant Hospital to Marilyn Moore, Shirley Crist, Martin and Diana Eads. Perfect attendance awards were presented Marilyn Moore, Doris Martin, Diana Eads, Joyce Duncan and Kathy Miller. The banquet committee included Marilyn Hummel, Marge Dumire, Doris Martin, Diana Eads and Marilyn Moore." The Fall meeting will be held Aug. 7 at 12 noon at Tiki Lanes. Patty Wood, treasurer. Guests were Sister Judy, Rev. Arthur Dimond and Rev. Stephen Metzger of St. Mark's Parish, Mrs.

Barbara Goodman, Mrs. Wilma Potts and Mrs. Midge Wolfe. The winning team for 35 weeks was Ding A Lings. Members are Mrs.

Eve -lyn McGee, Mrs. Patty Wood, Mrs. Diana Miller and Mrs. Sandra Dauterman. The most Improved bowler trophy was also given to Mrs.

Dauterman, who had an improvement of 32 pins. High game of the year award went to Mrs. Lola Krannitz, with a 222; high series of the year to Mrs. Pat Brady with a 595. The winning team of 1971-72 made up the banquet committee Mrs.

Mary Bash, Mrs. LiAnn Carr, Mrs. Donna Chilcote and Mrs. Pat Brady. Tables were attractively decorated for the oc-casion.

A small celebration was held Rev. Stephen Metzger, who was celebrating his birthday anniversary. He received cards and best wishes from all. The door prize was awarded to Mrs. Sharon Gierhart and gifts were given to last year's officers by the president, Mrs.

Barbara Hyde. Each one attending received a token gift. The league fall meeting will be held Aug. 2 at Tiki Lanes. Attending the affair were Mrs.
