Geese usually choose secluded spots along the Wabash River but these locations are vulnerable to rising waters and predators. Consequently, most of the eggs were lost each year. To solve the problem, members of a local conservation group have built portable nests. They mounted large tubs and barrels on wooden floats and put them in ponds and lakes in the area. Many of them were quickly occupied by the geese.

Six Killed On Highways Of State By The Associated Press Six persons died on the state's highways over the weekend, the lowest number since October. All but one of this weekend's deaths occurred Saturday. The worst accident was a two-car smashup in Coshocton that claimed the lives of a woman and her two daughters. The previous low weekend was Oct. 46, when four persons died.

This weekend's dead: SUNDAY John Telenko, 63, of Cleveland, when struck by two cars, which authorities said fled. SATURDAY COSHOCTON Wynona McVay, 38, of Warsaw, and daughters Julie, 15, and Jody, 11, in a two car, head on crash on Ohio 36 west of Coshocton.
