(Hillis) Holden, 69, passed away Monday morning April 11, 2016 at eld Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born August 13, 1946 in New Lexington the daughter of the late Darrell and Lucy Talbot Hillis. Rose was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, New Lexington Eagles 2070, BPOE Elks, the MacGahan Club and worked at Coiffures of Lancaster for many years. She is survived by her loving companion of 30 years, Leo Humphrey, sisters and brothers, Janet (Raymond) Sorg of Lancaster, Mary (Fred) Kessler of Lancaster, Ron (Diane) Hillis of Zanesville, Larry (Hazel) Hillis of Columbus, Frank (Tim Flautt) Hillis, and Steve Hillis of Columbus. Step-children, Tim Holden Greg (Jeanne) Holden of New Lexington and Leslie (Davie) Holden of Lancaster, Many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. (Ned) Holden. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2-4 6-8 pm at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 Jackson New Lexington with Eagles services at 7:00 pm and Christian Wake services at 7:30 pm. Rose M. (Hillis) Holden LANCASTER: Martha L. Blazer, age 85 of Lancaster, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Lanfair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 12, 1930 in Wellston, daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Turner) Long. Martha graduated from Wellston High School in 1948 and the Holzer School of Nursing in 1952.

She spent 40 years working at Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis and eld Medical Center in Lancaster. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hamburg and a member of Pine Lake Estates. he is survived by her children, Linda (Scott Collins) Brown, Tommy (Patty) Blazer, and David (Kristie) Blazer, all of Lancaster; sister, Katherine Wickline, of Lorain; brother, Earl Long, of Pueblo, CO; sisters in law, Helen Guisinger, of Lancaster, and Bernice Epps, of Lebanon; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; daughter, Elizabeth; her parents; granddaughter, Amanda Blazer; brother, Charles Paul Long; sisters, Edith Long and Imogene Campbell. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m.

Stiverson, formerly of Washington Court House, passed away April 10, 2016, at Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland, Ohio. James was born September 1, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Frieda (nee Poling) Stiverson.

He lived his youth in Sugar Grove, Ohio and graduated from Berne Union High School. In 1966, after machine training, he worked at Lockbourne Air Base, Anchor Hocking Glass Data Center, and Ohio University, at their Data Center. In 1966, he enlisted in the Army and was trained to work with Sergeant Missiles. He was stationed rst in Germany and then spent the remainder of his military time in Italy. While there, he learned to snow and water ski and visited numerous European landmarks.

He was married in 1969 and begun a career with IBM where he worked until his retirement in 1997. He spent his retirement years as a salesman, Bingo caller for the American Legion, worked at golf courses, and spent time ng with friends. He served in the local Library Board, was a member and cer with the Masonic Lodge of Mt. Sterling, and many other civic organizations. He headed the school dictionary program and distributed them to students as an educational service.

He spent the larger part of his life in the Mt. Sterling and Washington Court House area. Jim spent his last years in the care of the McMullen Asst. Care Center of Loudonville, the Brethren Care Center of Ashland, and Hospice of North Central Ohio also of Ashland. He was a gentle soul, kind, witty and always willing to help others.

He was cared for and loved by those who shared his life during these last few years. May he rest in the presence of his Savior. Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father and mother-in-law, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is Survived by his brother Jack (Sandy) Stiverson of Sugar Gove, sister Sandy (Bill) Flowers and Loudonville, niece Jane (Jeff) Walters, niece Angela Stiverson, nephew Bill Flowers, great neice Jillian Hilenski, and great nephew Mitch Hilenski.
